Media Library
Keep your video assets close to the edit.
B-roll, logos, music beds and recurring visuals often belong in more than one project. The ShortsJet media library lets you browse your own folders and bring those files into an edit when you need them.
Try it in ShortsJet
- Your local folders
- Visual thumbnails
- Drag to timeline
Build on the folders you already use
Choose a local folder for Visuals and another for Audio in the Library panel. ShortsJet remembers those folder choices on your computer independently of the current project. You can keep a collection of screen recordings, background music or reusable product shots in a familiar location.
New files appear in the library when they are saved into those folders. That works well when you regularly prepare assets elsewhere and want to bring them into the next video without setting up the same library again.
Find an asset by its picture or filename
The Visuals view shows video and image thumbnails, preserving the full subject within each preview. The Audio view uses a compact file list. Open subfolders and search the displayed folder to narrow down the assets you are looking for.
For a series of tutorials, organise recurring screenshots and branding in subfolders. For product videos, keep alternate angles together so you can compare the available shots while deciding what the edit needs next.
Bring reusable media into a specific project
Drag a file onto the timeline or double-click to insert it at the playhead. Used files also appear in the project’s Media panel, where you can manage the assets associated with that edit. Visual and audio files go onto compatible layers.
Your folder library is a view of files on your computer, rather than a cloud upload service. Original videos and music remain external project references. Keep them with the project when transferring work, so the next computer can find the recordings used in your timeline.
A CLOSER LOOK
Good to know.
Do I have to set up the library again for each project?
No. Your selected library folders are remembered on that computer. Each project still has its own list of media it actually uses.
Does the library upload my media?
No. It browses local folders. Editing, preview and export use files on your computer.
